Chris Dearden
Chris Dearden studied at the Huddersfield College of Art and worked for eighteen years as a textile designer. Since the 1960`s he has been active in painting and teaching art but became a full time artist and teacher of Landscape in Watercolour in 1983. He has lived in Northern Ireland since 1973. He regularly exhibits his work in both solo and group exhibitions throughout Ireland, Britain and more recently in the U.S.A. He has won numerous prestigious awards for his watercolour paintings which are greatly sought after. His ability to capture the moment in terms of light, composition and colour have won him many admirers. Chris Dearden is an associate of the Royal Ulster Academy where he is a regular exhibitor. He travels widely but is especially drawn to France where he has just completed a series of paintings in the Limousin, Loire and the Dordogne regions which the gallery is pleased to present.
