Alan Furneaux
“Although I have been painting for some time, there was a big gap between leaving art school after two years and putting down my guitar in my late thirties; being cooped up in a studio at seventeen wasn't for me. I have been a professional artist "that's giving up the day job" now for seven years and in a short time I have had many solo and joint shows in some of the leading UK galleries. I started developing my skills way back when I was a young lad, the son of a professional soldier and an artistic and broadminded mother. Music and arts have always been my passions. My Grandfather George Hann was a well traveled and well known English artist. He taught me a few things. Although I have had many jobs and lived in many places I have been settled now for 10yrs married to Lorraine and have three children, Layla, Alana and Sam.
My interests include dancing Salsa, eating out, learning Spanish, swimming, contemporary artists, and reading.
My work takes me to many foreign destinations; my favourites being North Africa, Spain and Southern France, and Tuscany.”
